Okay so before I begin, first of all, SPOILERS AHEAD! Secondly, Trigger warning for blood and gore. Thirdly, I wanna apologize for not making a blog about episode 6 last week. I was going through some shit and I needed some time to get my head together. ALSO, I realized that I made a mistake in the previous blog of Invincible. The title of this blog said Episode 4 when in reality it was episode 5, so my sincerest apologies for that. BUT ANYWAY! Let's get right into it shall we?
Obviously I wanna start with episode 6. This episode starts of with Mark healing after being torn apart with his guts hanging out and what not. So with Mark in a coma, this left Nolan and his son Oliver by themselves stranded on this planet and obviously, both of them are gonna have to open up to each other and reconcille.
For the most part Oliver spends most of his time hating Nolan and being angry at him after what he said about Andressa, Oliver's biological mother. Yeah bro was listening in on that Apology. Fortunately, Nolan did a better job with Oliver due to the fact that he had more time on his hands to apologize and bond. So he validated his sonds feelings instead of trying to defend himself. Whereas with Debbie. He only had a few minutes and one chance which didn't work in his favor.
In this episode we can see that Oliver gets less and less angry at Nolan and Nolan gave him the time and space he needed until Oliver was ready to open up to him and tell him how he felt. Thus rekindling the father and son relationship. Nolan, for the first time was being an actual father and I feel like this was more of a step forward than with his apology to Debbie.
Then Finally, Oliver confronts Nolan about what he said about Andressa. Pointing out that if Andressa was a mistake, then he must be a mistake too. Nolan apologized and while Oliver didn't want Nolan to talk about Adressa at first, he became curious and asked him more about her. After this, both of them spent to rest of their time on this planet, bonding as father and son.
MEANWHILE! Mark grew a beard and as I was watching this with a couple of my friends, we were all freaking out that he looked like my friend Camo who was watching with us.
Once Mark recovered, they all went to Talescria to hash it out with the Viltrumites that tried to kill everyone. The episode ends with them blowing up the ship they came in as the Viltrumites fled to their home planet. This all lead to Thaedus brewing up the idea of him and his team to face Thraggs head on and uh...OH BOY. Then begins the NEXT episoide.
In the begining, we get another glimpse of history. We see it start off with one of the colonized planets attemping to rebel, against the Viltrumites. As we can see here Thaedus is present amongst the other Viltrums during a meeting on what they should do about such actions.
Thaedus being the noble and mercifal man he is, he suggests dailing back on oppression but Emporer Argall, instead suggested that they wipe out 25% of the population as a warning and to show what happens when one tries to rebel. Afterwards, Thaedus went on to kill Emperor Argall.
This all leads to Thraggs ordering the FUCKING PURGE AND DEAR GOD.
AND THE CHILDREN! THE CHILDREN!
If this isn't the saddest and most tragic part about Viltrum and it's species I don't know what it is and not long after they were almost killed to extinction by the scourge virus leaving only 50 of them left. 10 - 15 by the end of this episode and I find it so fucking hilarious that they use the excuse of "It'll only make us stronger" when it comes to their short comings. That is just top tier copium maximum and what's worse, is if you look at Planet Viltrum itself, it's literally a wasteland perfectly described by Nolan as a tomb.
Oh and don't forget about the ring of dead bodies that orbits around the planet to which they deemed as a reminder of their weakness. That is just a *chefs kiss* cherry on top irony.
But it's not all bad because Nolan, Theadus, and Mark all join in to destroy the entire planet after space racer fires the gun straight at it which led to one of the most epic scenes I have ever witnessed. Nolan, Thaedus, and Mark all go through the planet. Going in from one side and out the other THROUGH THE CORE OF MOLTEN LAVA.
With Planet Viltrum finally destroyed, Thraggs immediately decapitates Thaedus and then goes after Mark and Nolan. Now comes the part that fucked me up for life because....holy shit. Holy shit man.
He survived but I still didn't take it well man. Bro went after mark too but as thraggs was gouging his eyes out, he saw behind Mark's head, the reminants of what was left which caused him to stop but I highly doubt it was out of mercy because as Thragss himself put it: There's already too few of us. And so they fled.
A couple weeks later at Talescria, Mark wakes up and talks to Allen about the where abouts of the Viltrumites. Apparently they couldn't figure it out UNTIL Mark realized they were headed to Earth. And I'm sure some of you would guess that if Mark and Nolan destoyred Viltrum they're gonna destroy Earth too! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I promise you it is much worse than that. Them fuckers are gonna try to colinize the entire planet and try to ya know....REPOPULATE. And uh YEAH. I'M SCARED :D
Okay I'm gonna sign off here because writing this blog is already fucking me up more then I already am. BYE.

Watched it myself and not gonna lie, the last two episodes (6 & 7 by the time) have been quite the rollercoaster. Episode 6 has been by far a great pay-off to Episode 5 where Nolan's poor choice have carried over to Episode 6 about Oliver being 'a mistake'. And it's been so heartwarming that I watched Episode 6 quite repeatedly.
ReplyDeleteI cannot say the same about Episode 7. It was amazing and it did show that Thragg is one terrifying motherfucker - like Freddie Mercury in his bad side. And the throwback with Argall and the Purge itself... Makes me wish there was a skip button. I am not squeamish by any means, I am just way too sentimental for this kind of cruelty. But in the end, Thragg and *his* empire, eventually have to come to terms that destruction can go both ways and the Viltrumites, without their homes and in dwindling numbers, have to make due with what they are capable of - and that is basically being forced to cross with humans.
And remember... There is Allan and there is the last vial of the scourge virus. And I have an ill feeling about it.
Oh dude tell me about. The last Few episodes have been a punch in the gut (No pun intended) and I'm not sure if I'm fully ready to handle what will come next cuz hoooooo boy. Hahahahaha. I'm gonna fucking lose it I just know it.
DeleteBut I will say at least they're doing a great job at making us feel rattled to our core so I'm not dissatisfied.
