Trigger Warning for gore ahead
Okay so, This episode was rough for me to go through. Mainly because of Mark's Panic attacks. As someone who has had similar thoughts and experiences I can tell you right now that this entire season of Invincible fucked me up
But Anyway! This episode has it's issues. While I did like this episode for setting us up for season five, the pacing was very abrupt and sudden for obvious reasons and every time Mark had a panic attack I kept thinking to myself "I hate this episode". I wanna say that epsiode 4 was worse but it at least didn't induce panic and anxiety every ten minutes while watching because look at this shit..
Hahahahaha this all reminds me of the kind worst case scenario anxiety I put up with for years and watching this episode only remionded me of this *shudder*
So let me go ahead and address the elephant in the room, Nolan and Debbies relationship just took a sudden shift from episode 5. There were no hints that Debbie was going to call it off with Paul and in this episode but the next time we see them, they mention that things didn't work out for them which was....okay. I mean I guess i can't really fault them for this because Amazon only gives them eight episodes per season which is a problem I find with these shows. Hazbin Hotel being in a similar boat. They don't have a lot of filler which means they also don't have a lot of time to explorer these dynamics and thinking about this is making me miss when a show had at least 22 episodes per season but I guess good shit has to come to an end.
Anyway back to Invincible, because I will say that I am excited for how they'll handle the Viltrumites living on Earth and I'll be honest I may or may not have gotten curious and uh....saw some comic panels....but even then, they changed so much in the show that anything can happen at this point.
The ONE thing that scares me is uh...Anissa....if you have not read the comics I will not spoil and for the love of God please don't mention it in the comments if you know whath happens because ah....yeah. I'm not ready.
One final thing I want to say about this episode is FUCK THEADUS BECAUSE WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU EXPECT ALLEN TO KILL HIS FRIENDS JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE VILTRUMITES?????
Like....I would NOT want to be Allen. Bro is cooked. But anyway, I see why Thraggs and Nolan had some eerie feelings about Theadus. Theadus was still trying to do genocide just on his own race. Genocide is still genocide and, in my opinion, is never the answer.
Also side note, same expression lol
Okay that's all I have for this episode, until then, I will see you next time
